I've never had a blog before, but I'm excited for this new adventure. As a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have the wonderful opportunity to share my testimony of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.
I feel really blessed to have this opportunity to serve. I love meeting new people and sharing amazing spiritual experiences with them! Sure, missionary work is hard, really hard, but the rewards from sharing the gospel with others far outweigh the struggles that we go through.
I decided to name the blog "Hurrah for Israel" because of one of my favorite stories. Two men, Brigham Young, and Heber C. Kimball were asked by the Lord to serve missions. They and their families were all suffering from a serious illness and it was almost impossible for them to even get out of bed. However, they had faith in the Lord and knew that if they still went, they and their families would be greatly blessed. As they struggled into the wagon that was going to take them away to their unknown future, both Brigham and Heber couldn't stand the thought of leaving their wives and children still lying in bed sick. They stopped the wagon, struggled to help each other to stand and cried with a loud voice, HURRAH, HURRAH, HURRAH FOR ISRAEL!!! Their wives heard them and came to the door to wish them farewell. This shout of hope and encouragement is something we can all say when we go though rough times in our lives. With faith in the God of Israel, nothing is impossible. Hurrah for Israel!
